In addition to the many classes, workshops, exhibits, and activities Imagine Martin will host at The Hive throughout the year, this unique creative space will also be available for private rentals.
At the heart of The Hive is the Garry Legacy Room—a one-of-a-kind space that blends historic character with creative energy. It provides an inspiring setting for private parties, meetings, team-building experiences, workshops, classes, small events, and creative gatherings.

Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council Coffee Chat
As our very first regional event held inside The Hive, just days before our Grand Opening. It was incredible to see the space filled with conversation, creativity, inspiration, and community during the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council Coffee Chat with Arts Organizations.From discussions about partnerships and funding opportunities to dreaming about the future of the arts in our communities, the energy in the room was inspiring.
MVAC Intern Appreciation Day Event
All 14 Minnesota Valley Action Council Martin County interns, their mentors, sponsors, and supporters gathered in The Hive to celebrate the success of the internship program and the hard work of the interns themselves. There were 5 intern speakers who presented to the group the first half of the event (Including our very own Sche Wheeler), before all interns and mentors were awarded a certificate. During the second half of the event, an intern only ordeal, the young adults sat for several guest speakers who gave them access to several professional tools, before they delved into their craft; watercolor thank you cards for their mentors, led by-you guessed it-Sche.
Fairmont Rotary Club Meeting
Fairmont Rotary took a field trip to The Hive for their monthly meeting which included touring the art studio and gallery and a bit of shopping at the Hub.
Martin County 4-H hosted a Regional Staff Meeting and took part in a Natural Dye Art Activity
Martin County 4-H hosted a Regional Staff Meeting at The Hive, bringing together representatives from 15 southwest Minnesota counties to connect, collaborate, and explore new ideas for 4-H and community engagement. Guests enjoyed lunch from El Agave Mexican Restaurant, checked out our gift shop, The Hub, snapped photos at our interactive mural, and took part in a Natural Dye Art Activity and yes, even our intern Sche joined in on the art fun!
Midwest Movement LLC - Line Dancing Class
The Hive was filled with music, laughter, and dancing when Midwest Movement LLC brought their FREE line dancing lessons to the space!
Dancers of all ages and experience levels joined in, from those trying line dancing for the first time to those who already knew a few moves. With plenty of encouragement, great music, and a lot of smiles, everyone had a chance to get out on the floor and have some fun.
FCS Teacher Appreciation Dinner with a little origami magic!
The Fairmont Christian School celebrated the incredible teachers who shape hearts and minds every single day and did it with a little origami magic at their Teacher Appreciation Dinner. Guests enjoyed food catered by El Agave Mexican Restaurant before creating butterflies to honor the transformation teachers inspire, hearts as a symbol of the love they pour into every student, and bookmarks because great teachers leave a mark on every chapter of our lives.
Michael & Elizabeth Garry Building Grand Opening
The Grand Opening took place May 16th 2026 inside the newly restored Michael & Elizabeth Garry Building at 105 West First Street in downtown Fairmont! Rich with local history, the building has been thoughtfully revitalized to honor the Garrys’ legacy and lasting impact on the community. This restoration has sparked the creation of Imagine Martin’s Art Studio & Gallery, opening an exciting new chapter for Fairmont’s creative community.
