The mARTin Mural Committee is a group of local artists who's mission is to collaborate with organizations to promote art in public spaces throughout Martin County. This committee evaluates large and small projects to determine which of our local artists would be best suited for the project! Imagine mARTin Mural Committee project encourages residents & visitors to keep the city and lakes clean!
To raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean city and lakes, the City of Fairmont, in collaboration with the local arts non-profit Imagine Martin, is launching an exciting public art initiative. These installations will creatively convey the message, "The Lake Starts Here," reminding residents of their role in protecting local waterways and keeping the environment pristine. Through vibrant, thought-provoking art pieces, the project aims to inspire a sense of shared responsibility and community pride in preserving the beauty of Fairmont's lakes and natural surroundings.

Imagine Martin is excited to share the latest mural project! Our mARTin Mural Committee chair, Alexandra Hurney collaborated with Central Farm Service (CFS) in Truman, MN to create a mural that represented the services they offer the community! Partnering with the downtown businesses the mARTin Mural Committee created a interactive mural.
This mural designed by Denise Rouse, artwork by Kim Koppen was completed fall of 2022. With a upgrade fall of 23 this interactive mural now features additional downtown Fairmont businesses & organizations, all the food & drink options found downtown, points of interest found downtown and a map showing the locations of each!
