The Hive - Art Studio & Gallery (COMING SOON)

Located next door to Imagine Martin’s Community Information Hub & Gift Shop, the newly restored Mike & Liz Garry Building at 105 W. 1st Street in downtown Fairmont will house Imagine Martin’s Art Studio & Gallery (The Hive), expanding creative opportunities locally and regionally.                

A historic downtown building at 105 W. 1st Street is being restored as a tribute to Michael and Elizabeth Garry, whose lives reflected a deep commitment to Fairmont through service, generosity, and preservation. Gifted to Imagine Martin to serve the community, the building will house Imagine Martin’s Art Studio & Gallery, known as The Hive. The Hive expands Imagine Martin’s mission by providing a makers marketplace and creative workspace designed to empower and connect regional creators within a two-building campus, a connected hub of imagination, innovation, and collaboration. With the addition of The Hive, Imagine Martin is transforming downtown Fairmont into a vibrant Arts & Makers District, where imagination fuels opportunity, collaboration sparks growth, and the arts inspire an entire region.

Working in partnership with local and regional arts organizations, The Hive will host rotating exhibits, artist showcases, and collaborative workshops, strengthening creative connections across Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa. Together, these efforts will make Fairmont a regional destination for arts, culture, and creativity, a place where artists, visitors, and community members come together to imagine, create, and celebrate.

The Hive will offer:

  • Affordable studios and work-spaces for artists, makers, and entrepreneurs

  • Shared tools and collaborative environments for creative work

  • A rotating artisan marketplace featuring regional handcrafted goods

  • Workshops, demonstrations, and community events that inspire learning and connection

In addition to the many events and activities Imagine Martin will be hosting at The Hive throughout the year, The Hive will also be offering rental options as a flexible creative space for workshops, meetings, classes, private events, and creative gatherings.
